Jamaican, Linsome Boyd has been sentenced to serve 15 years and two months at Her Majesty’s Prison for murdering his partner, Althea Henry on Father’s Day in 2020 and wounding her son. The sentence was handed down by Justice Collin Williams on Tuesday.

Early February, the middle-aged man pleaded guilty to the woman’s murder and to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm to kill her son who was 21 years old at the time.

Ms. Henry, who worked at the Antigua & Barbuda Passport Division for approximately 30 years was discovered inside her home on June 20th with multiple wounds on her body. Her son, Tajma Francis was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Center for injuries to his upper body and left eye which he received during an altercation with Mr. Boyd.

Following Mr. Boyd’s guilty plea, the court set a date to analyse the facts of the case and carry out a social inquiry which involved learning of the man’s background, interviewing witnesses, and analysing how the witnesses and relatives were affected by his crime to come up with a sentence.
