Police say they have charged the man wh0 they believe is responsible for the death of independent Member of Parliament Asot Michael.

In a press statement from its Strategic Communication (STRATCOM) Unit, police said they arrested and charged 26-year-old Alexta Francis with the alleged murder of the St.Peter MP, 

The Golden Grove resident was taken into custody by police late Friday evening for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation. No motive has been given for the killing.

Commissioner of Police, Atlee Rodney has thanked the public for their patience and cooperation throughout the investigation. He also continues to offer support to Michael’s family on their tragic loss. The commissioner is further commending his officers for their diligence and professionalism in handling the matter. Francis is expected in court on Monday.

Michael was formed stabbed to death in his home earlier this week.
