St. John’s Antigua – The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) is preparing for leadership changes in its Water Business Unit as it intensifies efforts to boost potable water production this year.

Ian Lewis, who dedicated nearly 37 years to the utility company, has retired just one month shy of the milestone. Stepping in as interim Water Business Unit Manager is Jason Peters, who previously served as APUA’s Transmission and Distribution Engineer.

APUA has expressed gratitude for Lewis’s decades of service, highlighting his contributions both locally and regionally. He held key roles, including Secretary of the Caribbean Water and Sewage Association, Director of the Caribbean Desalination Association, and local focal point for the World Meteorological Organisation. In these capacities, Lewis promoted collaboration and knowledge exchange across the regional water utility sector.
