The grim discovery of a man’s body stuffed inside a barrel has triggered Antigua and Barbuda’s sixth homicide investigation for the year.

Police have confirmed the deceased as 45-year-old Kerry Oliver, better known as “Dolla Man”, a resident of Pigotts who was reported missing on Friday, May 23.

His body was discovered on Sunday evening, bound and gagged, inside a barrel on a farm property in the Bendals area. The shocking find came less than two hours after police issued a public appeal for help locating him.

Details surrounding the cause of Oliver’s death have not been officially confirmed by police. However, sources close to the investigation claim that his body bore multiple stab wounds and that he had been gagged.

Earlier in the missing person probe, officers located Oliver’s white Honda HR-V, registration A49722, abandoned on a by-road near Pioneer Kennels in the Bathlodge area. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the keys still inside.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477)
