The manager of a marijuana farm in Antigua where a Trinidadian national was employed before his disappearance has been arrested and charged with a series of drug-related offences.

Andre Solomon, 44 also of Trinidad and Tobago, was granted bail this week after appearing before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel. He was charged following police raids at multiple properties, including his residences in Pares and Parham and a third property in Hodges Bay.

Solomon reportedly manages the farm in Glanvilles where 21-year-old Thomas Vasquez from Trinidad and Tobago had been working prior to going missing on April 14—nearly a month ago.

Local police have confirmed that  Solomon has been questioned by police in connection with Vasquez’s disappearance. Information reaching IPB suggests that he was one of  two individuals detained earlier this week to assist with investigations.

During the initial raid on April 30, police reportedly seized nearly 192 grams of loose cannabis, over two pounds of cured cannabis, and 790 cannabis plants from Solomon’s properties. Less than a week later, on May 7, lawmen executed another search at a Hodges Bay property linked to him, where they allegedly found an additional 4 ½ pounds of cannabis.

Solomon has since been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis plants, and unlawful cultivation. He was granted $50,000 bail with a $5,000 cash component and must report to police three times a week as part of his bail conditions. His next court appearance is set for May 21.

Solomon remains on visitors’ time until July.

Meanwhile, searches conducted by the Concerned Citizens group at the Glanvilles farm where Vasquez worked have yielded no sign of the young man. His mother Candy continues to plead for anyone with information to come forward.
