St. John’s, Antigua – Authorities have launched an investigation into the first homicide of 2025 following the death of a 35-year-old man from Old Road.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Mount Obama, formerly known as Boggy Peak. Initial reports indicate that the victim was involved in an altercation with another man when he was allegedly shot.

Police have confirmed that a male suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue. Officers remain on the scene, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events leading to the fatal encounter.
