Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a 19-year-old Guyanese woman who reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle on Wednesday evening.

Joyleen Abraham was found lying motionless with multiple injuries along a by-road between New Winthorpes and Jabberwock Main Road, shortly after 5 p.m. on May 7. A medical doctor pronounced her dead at the scene around 6:30 p.m.

A relative told IPB News that the 19-year-old UG Law student had come to Antigua to visit a personal friend.

According to reports, Abraham was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Victor Ince of Lightfoot West when the incident occurred. Ince is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The vehicle involved in the incident has been seized and transported to Police Headquarters for forensic examination.

The Police Administration is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has relevant information to come forward.
