Police have seized a silver car believed to have been used in the abduction of nine-year-old Chantel Crump on Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle was taken from Glanvilles, and its owner, along with his partner, has been taken into custody as authorities intensify their search for the missing child.

Chantel, a student of Five Islands Primary School, was last seen walking home with two schoolmates after being dropped off on the northern side of No.2 George Street, Grays Farm at approximately 3:10 p.m. Witnesses say a woman pulled up alongside her and invited her into the vehicle. Assistant Commissioner of Police Samuel Joseph, confirmed that Chantel willingly entered the car, even waving to her friends before it drove away.

The disappearance has triggered a nationwide search effort, with members of the public and law enforcement scouring the area for any leads. An emergency press conference was held at Police Headquarters on Thursday, where Joseph provided an update on the ongoing investigation.

At the time of her disappearance, Chantel was wearing her school uniform, black shoes with white socks, and had her hair styled in a bun with a red bow and a single braid at the front. She was also carrying a school bag.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the desperate search continues.
