At this year’s Piango Festival, farmer and mechanical engineer Itajah Simmons demonstrated the DJI T40 agricultural drone – the first of its kind in Antigua. This drone can spray 2 acres of land in just 15 minutes – work that would usually take farmers over two hours by hand.
Beyond farming, Itajah says the drone could also be deployed in rescue missions, making it a powerful tool for both food security and community safety.
Agriculture Minister Anthony Smith says this type of technology is what is needed to improve the industry.
