St. John’s, Antigua – A young Jamaican has died in prison. Chinlee Robinson was found unresponsive on his bed early this morning.

Superintendent of Prisons, Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather has confirmed the inmate’s death. Pennyfeather says it is to0 early to state the cause of the man’s death. Officers with the Criminal Investigations Department are on scene investigating the incident.

Robinson, who is 23 years old, was on remand for larceny of a cell phone. Sources reveal that he appeared in the magistrate’s court yesterday for further remand. Although he was expected to be released on bail, the process was delayed due to the unavailability of his passport.
